The Institution
Founded in 1889 by Presbyterians, Pikeville College is comprised of an undergraduate college and a school of osteopathic medicine. At the undergraduate level, a foundation of broad liberal arts and sciences education provides opportunities for students to develop to their full academic and personal potential while preparing for specific careers. The medical school provides men and women with an osteopathic medical education that emphasizes primary care, encourages research, and promotes lifelong scholarly activity.

Pikeville College is located on approximately 25 acres in the city of Pikeville, a vibrant community in East Kentucky. Pikeville is one of the state’s leading financial centers and has been ranked as one of the "100 Best Small Towns" in America.

Academic Programs
Students may choose, at the undergraduate level, from 3 associate degree programs and 25 baccalaureate degree programs; and at the graduate level, one professional program.

Semester-based
Faculty
Over 50 percent of the 61 undergraduate full-time faculty members hold doctorate or terminal degrees. A low student-to-faculty ratio (14:1) allows professors to know students’ names, ambitions and career goals. All of the 16 medical school full-time faculty have doctoral degrees.
Students
Total enrollment is about 1,100 students from 33 states and 5 countries, including approximately 800 undergraduate students and 300 medical students.
Annual Cost (2006-2007)
Undergraduate: $13,750 for tuition and $5,250 for room/board.
First Professional: $31,600 for tuition.
Financial Aid
Almost all (95 percent) of Pikeville College students receive some form of financial assistance to cover the cost of attendance (e.g., scholarships, grants, work-study, loans, etc.).
Campus Organizations
There are 40 campus clubs and groups including academic, service and leadership societies in which students can become involved.
Athletics
NAIA Division I, Mid-South Conference. Sports include football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s bowling, men’s and women’s tennis, softball, men’s and women’s cross-country, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track, and cheerleading.
